The gastronomy in the Dominican Republic is very exquisite, and you´ll find many dishes of stewed meats, spaghetti, and other more local dishes named National Flag made of rice, beans and cooked meat. Come to Cabarete and taste the delicious cuisine.
Mangu is a typical dish in Cabarete, Dominican Republic. It is made out of a mashed green banana puré, or tostones which are fried bananas. Without a doubt something typical from this area, and mind you...very delicious.
Sancocho is undoubtfully one of the most popular dishes in Cabarete and the entire Dominican Republic. It is similar to the spanish stew, but made with banana, yuca, potatos, vegetables, measts like grilled pork or chicken ribs with white rice, which is the ever so present ingredient in most dishes.
You´ll also find Dominican fast food, like fried chicken with french fries.
It´s desserts are sweet and made with fruits like bananas, oranges, coconuts and guayaba.
To eat in Cabarete is not very expensive, you can taste delicious dishes in the beautiful city starting at 5 dollars in a modest restaurants and up to 30 dollars in more luxurious restaurants in the city, especially the ones in hotels.
